Sydney DiVasta, of Mansfield, arrived at Elite in the fall of 2025 following reconstructive knee surgery after tearing her ACL while playing soccer for the Mansfield High School Hornets. Since her arrival, she’s worked closely with Elite Sports Physical Therapist, Ben Godin, PT, DPT, SCS, to regain her range-of-motion and improve her strength, balance, speed, explosive power and flexibility as she prepares for the freshman year of college and first year of collegiate sports. In addition to being an accomplished soccer player, Sydney’s primary sport is track and field, where she exceled as a sprinter and jumper at MHS. Prior to missing this past season, Sydney made it to States each of her first three years of high school and plans to continuing her career as a member of the Hamilton College track and field team this fall.

During her long rehab journey, Sydney has demonstrated discipline, consistency, and a strong work ethic. She’s worked incredibly hard and remained consistent and dedicated throughout the rehab process, even when faced with temporary setbacks in her progress. She also tells us that her first major athletic injury (and hopefully last!) “made me slow down and appreciate the little things…it also made me realize strength training is an important part of athletics.” When asked what advice she might offer younger athletes, she would tell them, “Be present in the moment and don’t take things for granted.”

Over the past 10 months, Sydney has spent countless hours at Elite, working hard to improve her strength, speed and power in preparation for the demands of college athletics. She tells us that despite the hard work, she’s enjoyed her experience at Elite, including “the environment, the physical therapists, and the variety of equipment…[the staff] are fun and caring.”

Now that she’s competed her rehab program and has been cleared to return to sports, Sydney looks forward to continuing her track career at Hamilton and plans to pursue her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and PhD in Pharmacology. From what we’ve seen from Sydney here at Elite, we know her future is incredibly bright – both on the track and in the classroom – and we know the Hamilton Continentals are fortunate to have her joining their community this fall! Congratulations, Sydney! We can’t wait to see what the future holds!
