Katie Yurof, 17, of North Attleboro, has been training at Elite Sports Performance & Physical Therapy in Foxboro for a year now! Katie attends Bishop Feehan High School where she plays lacrosse, field hockey, and track. With lacrosse being her main sport, she also plays at the club level for Gold Star Lacrosse. Katie came to Elite with the goals of improving her strength, speed, and power and reducing her risk of injury. So far, she’s been making outstanding progress in all of those areas! She has noted positive changes in her lacrosse performance, including feeling much stronger on defense and quicker to the ball and she continues to strive to get faster as well.

Katie is highly accomplished on the lacrosse field, where she was recently selected as a Catholic Central League (CCL) All Star and named to the Fall Classic Varsity All Tournament Team. In addition, she also has received several awards for sportsmanship as well. She is most proud of the CCL All Start Award because she “earned it playing a new position for the first time and earned my spot on the field in this new position.” However, all of these impressive accomplishments were not without challenges and obstacles. During her freshman year, she tore her meniscus, which required several months of physical therapy to get back to her sport as quickly and safely as possible.

When asked what defines a true athlete, Katie describes someone “that excels in all aspects of the game – physical and mental.” She also feels that “you must have a good attitude, a desire to work hard, a love of competition, and a ‘next play’ mentality.” She would advise younger athletes to not give up in the face of adversity but to work harder to overcome challenges. Her favorite athlete is Payton Pritchard of the Boston Celtics because she feels “he didn’t settle in his position” but continued to work hard enough to become a key contributor to the team. The best advice she received from her parents was to “keep your head down and work hard,” and Katie’s strong work ethic is on display every time she steps into the gym at Elite.

Katie truly loves lacrosse, enjoys practicing and says she is “grateful that I can play everyday.” She loves training at Elite because she feels the “workouts can be tailored to what you need to improve on.” She also loves the supportive environment and community at Elite and the celebration of our athletes’ accomplishments. She would strongly recommend Elite since “it has something for everyone and helps people get stronger.”

Katie has an exciting future ahead and plans to study sports management and continue her lacrosse career at the collegiate level. Here at Elite, Katie is a phenomenal role model for our younger athletes. She can always be found smiling and supporting fellow athletes. She is incredibly determined, hard-working, and focused on her training as she is always looking for ways to improve.

We’re excited to announce Katie Yurof as our Elite Athlete of the Month for June, 2025! With her determination and commitment to her training, as well as her incredibly positive attitude, we know she has all the tools for great success in the future, both on and off the field. Keep getting after it and making us proud!
